► Before Pokemon Diamond and Pearl released outside of Japan in 2007, a demo version was made available at certain gaming conventions, special events and retail stores. The demo gave western players their first chance to explore the Sinnoh region, placing new trainers on a demo exclusive variant of Route 203, with trainers using then new Pokemon such as Pachirisu and Cherrim. It also gave trainers three Pokemon of their own to use – Lucario, Mime Jr. and Roselia – with a special evolution event for Roselia at the end of the demo! Today, I’ll be playing this demo, 13 years after it originally was available, and be breaking it – there is a lot more to this seemingly short 10 minute demo than meets the eye!

About Pokemon Diamond and Pearl –
► Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version are role-playing video games developed by Game Freak, published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. They are the first installments in the fourth generation of the Pokémon video game series. Originally teased in 2004, they were first released in Japan on September 28, 2006 and later released in North America, Australia, and Europe over the course of 2007. Pokémon Platinum, an updated version, was released two years later in each region. These games take place in the Sinnoh region, and added new features such as Internet play. (Wikipedia).
